Those that say it can’t be done are being passed by those doing itI’ve been going hard since I was a kid. I was the youngest Australian to climb Mount Everest and each of the other “Seven Summits” – the highest peak on all seven continents. I also made an award-winning film about those exploits, To Stand Above the Clouds. I started skydiving more than a decade ago and have more than 3,500 wingsuit flights among my 6,500+ skydives. I started wingsuiting in 2005 when a buddy handed me a wingsuit and pointed to the plane. No instruction, just climbed aboard, got to altitude and jumped out. I flew the suit around this beautiful puffy cloud, and felt like a bird. I have never looked back. I love it because everyone at some stage has dreamed of flying like a bird and with modern wingsuits we really can! I share in several world-record wingsuit formation flights, and I also designed a carbon-fiber wing called the X-wing, which may eventually take wingsuiting to another level. I’ve been flying it all year in both powered and unpowered configurations and recently received official experimental aircraft status for it from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. I’m honored to once again be part of the China Grand Prix and I promise to put on an awesome show for the spectators: This race is going to rock!
